ASPECT represents over 100 member organizations offering community-based employment services in 190 communities throughout British Columbia. Its members employ several hundreds of British Columbians and represent significant community investment in the employment services sector.

ASPECT members are experts in the delivery of employment servicesthat help British Columbians find and keep jobs. The community-based organizations we represent support employment in local communities. They create opportunities, provide support, put to use their local expertise and connections, advocate for change, and foster entrepreneurship, all of which help individuals and communities achieve greater economic stability and prosperity.

We support our members in making their communities more economically stable and prosperous by advocating for the sector, providing professional development, creating opportunities, and making connections.

At ASPECT, we believe that it is our responsibility to help politicians and policymakers understand the needs of job seekers and communities throughout the province. We identify changes and opportunities in the labour market. We share what we learn with the government and collaborate to create policies, programs, and funding with client needs at the centre. As a sector, we have a unique perspective that we voice to make a difference in BC’s economy and the lives of British Columbians by helping them reach their employment potential.

Community Employment Service Providers Week celebrates the vital contributions of community-based employment service and training organizations in empowering futures and building communities. Created by ASPECT BC and recognized through a Province of BC Royal Proclamation, the week of November 4-8, 2024, highlights the critical work of the employment service sector and its profound impact on individuals and communities across the province.

This week also offers ASPECT BC and nearly 100 community service providers the chance to educate and celebrate our political and public service partners who collaborate with us in this essential work.
