Thriving Through Transitions
Description
Any change, big or small, within your personal life or at work, can set off a complex transition process, the impact of which can be far-reaching. Transitions aren’t instantaneous; they can extend over a long period of time and impact all aspects of your life. Transitions may be experienced quite differently by individuals impacted by the same “change event”; the transition process is influenced by both internal characteristics and external/contextual factors and resources.
This e-workshop comprises topical readings, links to relevant resources, and two webinars designed to deepen your understanding of change and transitions and to strengthen your ability to effectively navigate through them. Relevant for individual professional development, team strengthening during transitional times, and supervisors/managers tasked with leading organizations through change, participants will learn strategies to stay positive, optimistic, and engaged and will benefit from reflective time to consider what’s working, what’s not, and what’s next on their life and career journeys.
Learning Objectives
Participants will:
- Explore the impact of change, and the transition process, on already full lives
- Learn strategies for staying positive and optimistic during challenging times
- Reflect on their careers, exploring what’s next and what’s possible
- Examine how the interaction between capacity and challenge impacts career engagement
