June 5, 2026, Victoria BC: -- The ASPECT Board of Directors is pleased to announce a planned leadership transition for the organization. After ten years as CEO of ASPECT, Janet Morris-Reade will be stepping back from the role at the end of June 2026 to project-manage the BC Social Care Training Project on behalf of ASPECT and the Social Services Sector Roundtable (SSSRT) Reference Group. The initiative focuses on strengthening workforce training and capacity across British Columbia’s social care sector.
Over the past decade, Janet helped strengthen ASPECT’s role as a trusted and collaborative voice for community-based workforce development. Under her leadership, ASPECT expanded professional development offerings, strengthened relationships with government and policymakers, diversified revenue streams, increased conference growth and engagement, and advanced provincial and national sector partnerships.
The Board is also pleased to announce that Jennifer Nichol will step into the role of Interim CEO beginning July 2026.
“On behalf of the Board, we are pleased that ASPECT will continue to benefit from Jennifer’s leadership, experience, and deep knowledge of the organization,” said ASPECT President Aaron Clausen. “Having been part of ASPECT for almost ten years, Jen brings strong continuity, trusted relationships, and a clear understanding of the needs of our members and the sector.”
Jen has played a key leadership role in ASPECT’s operations, financial management, advocacy strategy, contract management, conference development, and member services. ASPECT has undertaken intentional succession planning and leadership development over the past several years to support continuity and organizational stability.
The Board is confident that ASPECT is well-positioned moving forward, with a strong staff team, clear strategic direction, diversified revenue strategies, growing professional development initiatives, and strong relationships with government, funders, and sector partners.
The Board thanks Janet for her leadership and ongoing contributions to the sector and welcomes Jennifer into her new role.
