Developing leadership competency is an ongoing process for which supervision can play an integral role. Supervisors can support employees or other supervisees in identifying gaps, building skills, and promoting a sustained focused on professionalism, quality performance, and effective leadership. In this course, students will reflect on the supervisor-supervisee relationship and the role of supervision in their own development as well as their roles and responsibilities in supervising others.

Students will be required to complete the following learning activities:
Topical resources (e.g., readings, videos) and notes will introduce relevant foundational concepts and helpful tips/strategies for your work.
Live 30-minute webinars* will provide the opportunity for students to hear directly from the instructor further exploring the topic. Students should watch for the access information to be distributed via the news forum (or email directly from your instructor). If any student is unable to attend live, a webinar recording will be made available for later review.
Active engagement in the topical discussion is the students’ opportunity to apply their learning, ask for clarification from their instructions, and connect with peers.
Throughout each course, students refine their personal view of leadership. In a private blog on the course site, students will share a brief reflection of how their views have been shaped in the course and strategies for implementing learning at work currently or in the future. These reflections are required for successful series completion and will be particularly helpful in composing the capstone project.
